Tourism Concern brief on Business & Human Rights gets attention

The purpose of the event on Business and Human Rights that Tourism Concern presented at this year’s World Travel Market in London, was also to launch the brief Why the tourism industry needs to take a human rights approach: The business case. The brief calls on the sector to recognise that true sustainability can only be realised if the development and operation of tourism is embedded upon a respect for human rights. This includes the rights of marginalised communities in destinations who often suffer the negative impacts of tourism development. See Tourism Concern post on webpage Noember 10th about this on the day of the event.

Im thrilled to see the good attention this event is being paid today in The Independent today and feel proud of taking part in an unique organisation as Tourism Concern campaigning for ethical, fairly traded tourism that always benefits local people.
